There are seven (7) representative fields of specializations approved by the Board. These are as follows: - Agricultural Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Geology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgy
- Mining Engineering
Practising licences show the field of specialization that has been approved by the Board. The Board may approve other fields as the need arises. Architecture and surveying are dealt with by other legislation. Surveyors can be registered as engineers depending on their basic qualifications.
