EIZ President, Eng Henry Musonda - Inaugural Speech
From now onwards, I have the privilege of leading the Institution in the classic sense of leading EIZ members, individually and organizationally, for the next 12 months. As interesting as that would be, I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE OF LEADERSHIP. Not leadership in the context I just made reference to, but leadership by the profession in a public role in the theme areas of professional practice, infrastructure, Industry and environment. I would like to point out that to have an effective public role, engineers, as a profession, must adopt that role as integral to their profession. Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) President Henry Musonda has thanked the 54th Council and the secretariat for the input they put for the betterment of the Institution.
The Engineering Institution of Zambia has received 16 papers for this year’s National Symposium which takes place at the Sun Hotel in Livingstone in August this year.
The Editorial Board, which looks at the publication of the Proceedings received 22 abstracts from which 20 were picked and authors advised to write full papers. As at the closing date of receiving of full papers, 16 papers were received for the conference which takes place on 27th August 2010. About 350 engineers are expected to attend the Symposium and also the Annual General Meeting which takes place on 28th July 2010.
